hotel has 380 beautifully furnished rooms, all carefully preserved in their
original 1930s style. In its heyday in the 30's the hotel was a base for many
famous artists including Song Qingling, Charlie Chaplin, George Bernard Shaw
and Noel Coward.

serving the high class cuisine one would expect from a hotel of this
standard.The Hotel's Jazz Bar was once a hangout for Shanghai sophisticates.
The band still play fantastic tunes today, although the bar itself has become
more of a tourist joint than a trendy hang out and the "Cover
Charge" to get into the place to enjoy this experience is a bit of a rip
off!
