Fang Yuan Hotel conveniently locates in Wangfujing Area,  downtown of Beijing. It is a two-star hotel under the jurisdiction of Beijing Political Consultative Commission.  

Location

It is 1 km from Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City, 9 km from West Railway Station and 27 km from Beijing Capital Airport.  it is in the city center and in the wangfujing street-- the largest shopping center  in beijing.  the rooms are clean and serviced daily ,and have a clean bathroom and there are tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. The hotel is in an excellent location , 5 min walk to Wangfunling Dajie and 10/15 mins to The Forbidden City, 8 mins to the night food market ( a must , cheap and delicious), 10 mins to metro stop ( it is between 2 stations)and close to numerrous eateries and shops .The hotel also has a terrific tourist information desk manned by charming English speaking Chinese( particularly Gertrude who can help you with most queries, book air tickets, tours and general advice).There is also very cheap internet access.

A very friendly hotel in an excellent location less than a block from the Wanfujing shopping area, 5min walk to a night food market, and a pleasent 15min stroll to Tiananmen. The resteraunt in the hotel is so-so and overpriced but just down the road to the east is a very nice Chinese family resteraunt with excellent and cheap food(though the service, while friendly, requires some patience). There are also a number of noodle and dumpling shops just across the road and a convenience store in the hotel and one across the road. The rooms are a bit rundown but fine for the price. Brand new water heaters in evry room with good water pressure. Most of the rooms are doubles. Beds can be pushed together for couples with a minimum of fuss. The cheap rooms are all sub-ground level but have windows that open but are gated in for security(a good place to hang wet socks). The desk staff is very friendly and speak sufficient English. The travel agency staff speak very good English and are also quite friendly. All in all I heartily reccomend this hotel.
